Pay attention to the road!

I don’t know about you, but I am getting tired of trying to make my way from point A to point B, while at the same time dodging the people trying to multi-task on our streets and highways. Then, to complicate things, I even see our law enforcement people doing the same things.

You know who I mean; you see them, too. They are the ones reading their novels while sitting in stop-and-go traffic, or the nice young lady trying to put her makeup on while talking on the cell phone at 70 miles per hour.

What do we need to do to make our streets and highways safer to drive on? There are people out there that can’t even merge into traffic, or they feel that the only lane on the highway is the left lane, and the other lanes are just a means to get there. These are the same people who will go as far as to hold traffic up, just so they can get into that left lane.

Seriously, you can travel just as fast in the right or middle lanea as you can in the left.

These are the people who get upset with you when they do something wrong. For example, they cut you off, and then they give you the infamous one-finger wave.

I am by no means saying that I am perfect. However, I do try to do my best, by doing things like not being in the left lane unless I am passing someone. If I do take a phone call while driving, which is hardly ever, I try to limit them, especially, when traffic starts getting heavy.

Now after reading this, you will have to agree with me when I say that we need some laws or some catchy infomercials put into place to educate people. I know that we will not stop this completely, but we can cut down on the traffic accidents and the road rage.

We can’t even get people to stop crossing the double white lines at off ramps.

Now, let’s get out there and try to be more courteous and thoughtful of other people. Drive safe!
