Keshawn Lowell Rodgers, 21, of 209 Duke St., Suffolk, departed this life on Aug. 23, 2009. He formerly worked at Gwaltney Plant and was a former student of Lakeland High School.
His survivors include his mother, Sharon Rodgers; his father, Frank Eley Sr. (Annette); one son, NiJon Elliott; two sisters, Ebony Rodgers and Ciara Eley; two step-sisters, Tonya Johnson and Ashley Johnson; three brothers, VanShawn Rodgers, Frank Eley Jr. and Ramair Williams; one step-brother, Tremane Johnson; his grandparents, James Harrison Jr., Robert Earl Eley Jr. and Mary Frances Eley, all of Suffolk; his great-grandmother, Lottie Lewis, of Suffolk; aunts, Ta’Shauna Rodgers, of Suffolk, Nikkia Davis (Julus), and Isis Blount, of Richmond, Peggy Lawerance (Ronnie), and Claudette Eley, of Georgia; uncles, DeShawn Rodgers, Byron Harrison (Logan), Chuck Eley and LaRan Eley, all of Suffolk, and a host of other relatives.
A funeral of triumph will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, at noon at the Tabernacle Christian Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday.
