A Suffolk grand jury issued eight petitions for a youngster charged in the burning of three homes on Franklin Street in July.

Kelly Golden Jr., 15, faces five counts of burning or destroying personal property, two counts of arson of an occupied dwelling, and one count of arson of an unoccupied building.

The fire began in a vacant house at 120 Franklin St., and quickly spread to the occupied homes on both sides. Those families were able to escape injury, though the homes were destroyed and several firefighters injured while battling the blaze.
