The article in the Suffolk News Herald Thursday on the front page “Sisters, Mothers and Aunts,” is the most ridiculous, irresponsible article I have ever seen in the Suffolk News-Herald.

When did it become OK to have unwed teenaged mothers heralded for their achievements?

I certainly hope that I am not paying for these children with my tax dollars and that their mother who gave them so much “guidance” throughout their pregnancies will take care of them out of her pocket and not the commonwealth of Virginia’s or the city of Suffolk’s pocket.

I’d much rather read a story of a mother that gave her children “guidance” BEFORE they got pregnant and avoided a situation like this.

The Suffolk News-Herald should be ashamed.
