Hampton Police seek suspect in murder

Hampton police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found dumped in Suffolk.

Miles Burnell Cross, 21, was found in brush alongside Collins Road in Suffolk on the morning of Oct. 1. He had formerly resided in the 5000 block of 81st Street in Hampton.

Hampton Police have warrants on file for Barry Eugene Moore Jr., 21, also of the 5000 block of 81st Street, for one count of murder and one count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to a Hampton Police press release.

Investigation has revealed the two men got into a verbal altercation early on the morning of Sept. 25, during which the suspect allegedly shot the victim, according to the press release. He then allegedly took the man’s body and dumped it in the brush on Collins Road, according to the Hampton Police press release.
