City officials said this week that last Saturday’s “Suffolk Neighborhood College … Express!” event was a success.

Suffolk citizens spent the entire day meeting with the city manager, constitutional officers, public safety officials, department heads and a representative from Suffolk Public Schools, learning about the workings of local government.

The event was coordinated by the city’s Media and Community Relations Department.

The free program offered a unique educational experience and insight into the opportunities available in the community, as well as a forum to interact with fellow residents.

The program was designed to help Suffolk citizens become better acquainted with local government and the services it provides, and to promote effective communication to improve the overall quality of neighborhood life throughout the city.

The session will be held again next fall. To get on the waiting list to attend, call Diana Klink at 514-4104.
