Elections will be held on Tuesday. Following are some things to remember.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you are in line at 7 p.m., you will be allowed to vote.

You must vote at the polling place you have been assigned.

Absentee voting is closed, but any absentee ballots that arrive in the mail at the Voter Registrar’s office through Tuesday will be counted.

Bring your voter registration card or a form of identification with you.

Other acceptable forms of ID include a valid photo ID (such as driver’s license); military ID; Social Security card; a current utility bill, bank statement, government check or paycheck that shows name and address; or another government document that shows name and address.

If you believe that your voting rights have been violated, you can file a complaint online by clicking a link on the homepage of the Virginia State Board of Elections at www.sbe.virginia.gov.

A nonpartisan private organization, Virginia Election Protection, has a hotline number, 1-866-Our-Vote, that is intended to help Virginians deal with problems they may encounter at the polls.
