City offices to close

In observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, city offices will close at noon today and remain closed Thursday and Friday. Normal operations will resume Monday at 8:30 a.m.

All city libraries will close at noon today and reopen on Monday at 9 a.m.

The Suffolk Museum will close at noon today and reopen Tuesday at 10 a.m.

The city’s Tourism Visitor Center will close at noon Wednesday and reopen Saturday at 9 a.m.

Lone Star Lakes Park will close at noon Wednesday and reopen Nov. 28 at 8 a.m.

Constant’s Wharf, Sleepy Hole and Bennett’s Creek parks will remain open during the holiday, but no attendant will be on duty. Full staffing will resume Saturday at 8 a.m.

The Public Works Department will pick up Thursday’s trash route on Friday, and Friday’s trash route on Saturday. Trash must be placed at curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the day of collection.

Other area closings include the Southeastern Public Service Authority facilities. Most of SPSA’s facilities will be closed on Thanksgiving, with the exception of the Suffolk landfill, Norfolk transfer station and Landstown transfer station. Those facilities will open at 7 a.m. and close when collection trucks have finished. SPSA’s facilities will return to a regular scheduled on Friday.

U.S. Postal Services offices in Suffolk will be closed Thursday, and observe normal retail hours Wednesday and Friday. The Windsor post office, 4 E. Windsor Blvd., will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday and Friday.
