HAMPTON – Local swimmers will have a unique chance to learn from two Olympic medalists on Saturday, Dec. 19 at Hampton University’s Holland Pool.

Josh Davis was the only male athlete in any sport at the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics to win three gold medals. Davis captained the U.S. team in the 2000 Olympics and won two silver medals in Sydney. Davis broke the American record in the 200-meter freestyle three times in his career.

Christine Marshall won the bronze medal as part of the U.S. 4×200-meter freestyle relay team in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Marshall is the first Olympic swimmer to come from Texas A&M. Marshall is a business major at Texas A&M and is a four-time Big 12 champion.

Davis and Marshall will be teaching kids competitive swimming skills as Unique Swimming Swim Club will host a Mutual of Omaha Breakout! Swim Clinic.

The clinic is a unique experience developed by Davis and Mutual of Omaha to inspire and motivate a new generation of swim stars. As an official sponsor of USA Swimming, Mutual of Omaha actively supports the sport on all levels, from local clubs across the country to the National Team. Davis is a master clinician and motivational speaker.

The clinic is set from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for ages 8-18. The cost is $45 per swimmer.

Swimmers will hear inspiring messages from David and Marshall. Immediately following, everyone will hit the water for in-water demonstrations and instruction on swim strokes and techniques. Some participants may even have a chance to test their strokes in a race against the Olympic champions. Concluding the event, Davis and Marshall will be available for autographs and photos.
