Bus trip to see former KF hoops star

Georgetown and high-scoring freshman TaShauna “Sugar” Rodgers (King’s Fork) is visiting the University of Richmond on Saturday, Dec. 12 at 12 p.m.

A bus trip to see the game is scheduled to leave from the Wal-Mart on Main Street at 9 a.m. Saturday. The bus will depart UR’s Robins Center one hour after the game ends. It’s $30 per person for the bus ride and a game ticket.

Rodgers is King’s Fork’s all-time leading scorer and was a McDonald’s All-American is a Lady Bulldog.

Georgetown (7-2) has a six-game winning streak going after a 73-56 win over Wake Forest on Saturday in Washington, D.C. Rodgers had 12 points and three steals.

Rodgers has led the Lady Hoyas in scoring in seven of nine games this season, with a high of 29 points in a win at Central Michigan on Nov. 25. Rodgers was voted Big East Rookie of the Week two weeks ago.

Seating on the bus is limited and filling fast. This is the closest the Lady Hoyas will be to Suffolk this season.
