City to plant a shoe tree

The Suffolk Department of Parks & Recreation will be collecting new and gently used shoes for area youth and teens as part of the city’s Shoe Tree 2010 effort.

The shoes will go to the Suffolk unit of the Salvation Army for distribution to those in need. Donations can be made at any of the following recreation centers:

Booker T. Washington, 204 Walnut St.
