A trash truck headed to the Southeastern Public Service Authority landfill tipped over on its side and lost much of its load while attempting to negotiate the onramp to eastbound Route 58 from Godwin Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.

Fire and rescue workers and police were on the scene, but the driver suffered only minor injuries and refused transport to the hospital.

The accident took place at 1:20 p.m., and workers expected to be on the scene for hours, according to reports. The on-ramp at Godwin Boulevard is currently closed.
