The undefeated Tru Hope Trailblazers host the Nova Hawks in Eastern Basketball Alliance action Sunday at 4 p.m. at Atlantic Shores Christian High School in Chesapeake.

It’s the last home game of the regular season for the Trailblazers (5-0) who will then play eight straight games on the road.

Last Sunday, the Trailblazers cruised past the Alexandria Avengers, 106-83. Tru Hope has scored more than 120 points in three of its five wins this season. Lakeland alum Eric Ruffin totaled 19 points and 12 assists in the win over the Avengers.

Fans are invited to come early to the game because Trailblazer players will be available to greet fans, take pictures and sign autographs from 3-3:30 p.m.

In addition to Ruffin, most of the Trailblazer roster is made up of players native to Hampton Roads. On the high school level, Granby, Green Run, Kellam, Churchland, Deep Creek, Maury, Salem and Princess Anne are represented. Tru Hope’s starting small forward, Tre Kemp, is enlisted in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Norfolk. Jamal Robinson and Jason Clark are former University of Virginia players.

Advance tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids age 5-18. Tickets purchased at the game are $7 and $3.

The EBA is a minor-league pro league with teams ranging from Virginia to Connecticut. The EBA allows players the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents in a highly-competitive league, while providing affordable, quality family entertainment.

Players come from Division I, II, and III collegiate programs. The EBA serves as a spring board for many that have the hope of playing in overseas leagues and in the NBA.
