The Womanless Beauty Pageant was a real success.

It truly takes a village to fight cancer, and the Nansemond River Pilot Club and the American Cancer Society thank you for your generous support.

The Chesapeake Square Olive Garden again served a most delicious meal and made a contribution for the Relay. Dave Parker was the perfect emcee, and he shared the battle his family is facing with the disease. Thank you, Dave. Also, thank you to the paper for the coverage and for those great pictures.

What a wonderful group of men we had to work with, all past winners. They had excellent reasons for participating. Congratulations to each man. Each one is a winner.

One day we can stop all of this, because one day we will find a cure.
