Citing continued poor road conditions, Suffolk Public School officials announced that all schools and offices would again be closed Wednesday. Students and staff are asked no to report.

“Many neighborhoods and tree-covered roads are still dangerous for buses,” wrote schools spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw in an e-mail to the News-Herald Tuesday afternoon. “In addition, roads that have been cleared may have a foot or more of plowed snow pushed to the shoulder, where many students wait for the bus.”

Isle of Wight Public Schools also announced late Tuesday afternoon they too would be closed Wednesday and both systems have yet to decide on when or how they will handle make-up days.

In contrast, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy decided Tuesday to reopen on Wednesday at the normal time. The school had been closed both Monday and Tuesday. Franklin Schools also announced they would reopen Wednesday.
