HAMPTON — Suffolk drivers Scott Prillaman and Adam Florian resume their battle for the 2009-10 Pro Series title this Friday as Arena Racing Hampton Roads returns to action at the Hampton Coliseum with the Old Point National Bank 200 to benefit the Center for Child and Family Services.

Friday’s feature lineup includes a trio of 50-lappers — the A, B and C Mains — for the Pro Series. The top six finishers from the A Main and the top four from the B and C Mains advance to the 50-lap Top Dog race, the evening’s headlining event.

The Youth Series hits the track between the A Main and Top Dog races as Connor Hall looks to extend his unbeaten streak to eight. For this week’s race, the youngsters will be introduced to the crowd Top Dog-style, with music and spotlights.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the pre-race pit party and the racing program gets under way at 7:30. Drivers will also be available to meet fans on the concourse at the conclusion of the Top Dog feature.

Tickets are $10 for adults. When purchased at the Coliseum box office, each regularly-priced adult ticket also includes one free kids (3-12) ticket. Additional kids tickets are $5. Military personnel (with ID), senior citizens (65+, with ID) and students (13-18) receive a $2 discount off the adult ticket price.

With two events left on the schedule, the chase for the $10,000 Pro Series championship has boiled down to a tussle between Prillaman, the 2007-08 champ, and Florian, the defending titlist.

Prillaman enters Friday’s race with a nine-point advantage, 408-399. However, tossing out each driver’s two worst outings, as will be done before the final standings are tabulated, Florian draws to within just five of the leader. Second place in the final rankings is worth $5,000.

Behind the lead duo, Jordan Wood, Derek Miller, Charlie Green and Travis Wall are in a four-way scuffle for the third spot.
