SUFFOLK — Harvey Lee “Tommy” Rodgers, 58, of the 300 block of North Lloyd Street, Suffolk, passed away March 18, 2010 at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Suffolk and son of the late Dollie Rodgers and Floyd Mizell. He was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Shameka Rodgers of Chesapeake; one son, Anthony Knight of Suffolk; two grandchildren; three aunts, Sylvia Gwaltney (Clifton), Pearl Butts (Calvin) and Vivian Simkins; one uncle, Jerry Rodgers and other relatives and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Rising St. James PHC, officiated by the Rev. George Smith and Bishop Dwight Whitfield. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
