Dorothy Harvey

Ms. Dorothy Ann “Stump” Harvey entered into eternal rest March 24, 2010, at Nansemond Pointe Nursing Home.
She was born to the late James Harvey II and Beulah Harvey of Suffolk.
Dorothy was a native of Suffolk and a graduate of East Suffolk High School.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Ajane Harvey and Eliza Harvey and a brother, Jerome Harvey.
Ms. Harvey was a former employee of National Screen Company until closing. She also was employed with Green Pines Motel until retirement.
She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, Suffolk, under the leadership of the Rev. Larry J. Parker. She was an active and faithful member of the senior usher board until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister, Beulah Phillips; two brothers, James Harvey III and Vernon Harvey (Shirley), all of Suffolk. She also leaves a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved and cared for her dearly.
A funeral will be held at noon Monday at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry J. Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wyatt & Sons Funeral Home Inc., Suffolk.
Family and friends will assemble at 1018 White Marsh Road, Suffolk, at 11 a.m. the day of service for procession.
