A court date has been set for the woman accused of biting another woman’s finger last week.
Lillian Blunt Beasley, 42, will appear in Suffolk General District Court on April 26 at 10 a.m. She faces charges of malicious wounding, trespassing and using profane language.
The charges stem from a March 22 incident when police were called to a disturbance in the 400 block of Smith Street about 7:20 p.m.
Police learned that two women had been involved in a fight. The victim had put her hand out to block the suspect, and the suspect allegedly bit the pinkie finger of the victim’s right hand, nearly severing it, said city spokeswoman Debbie George.
When officers arrived, the suspect was throwing herself in the mud and “barking,” George said. Beasley is being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
