Maybe the next time he comes to court, he’ll leave the reason he’s there at home.

A Suffolk man was arrested Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of marijuana at the Suffolk courthouse — where he was appearing in court on a possession of marijuana charge.

On Friday, 19-year-old Christopher Childs was heading into the courthouse to answer the judge in relation to Childs’ March 25 arrest on charges of drug possession.

When sheriff’s deputies in the courthouse asked him to empty his pockets in preparation for passing through the metal detector, Childs pulled out a bag of marijuana and set it on the table, according to city spokeswoman Debbie George.

“He will be in court again next month,” George said.

Childs’ original case was continued to May 14. He will be arraigned on the second charge on Wednesday.
