Mr. Roland L. Harrison Jr., of 203 Walnut St., departed this earthly life on May 6, 2010 in Sentara Obici Hospital. Mr. Harrison was a member of East End Baptist Church and retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and also was a member of the Boosters Club.
He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Freeman (Rudolph), of Newport News, Va., and Natalie L. Harrison, of Owings Mill, Md., one son Kennieth Harrison, of Suffolk, five grandchildren and a host of other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife, Edith Harrison.
A funeral of triumph will be held on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at East End Baptist Church, where Dr. Mark A. Croston will be officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery.
