The Sixth Annual Youngstarz Basketball Camp will be held at Nansemond River High School June 28-July 1 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Space is limited so sign up now! The limit of 60 campers has been reached each of the last few years. The cost is $100.

The camp is for boys and girls currently in grades 2-7. The emphasis is on skill development and proper position play with shooting contests, 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 games and team play.

The Youngstarz coaches, led by Nansemond River head coach Ed Young, will lead classroom sessions each day on how to become better students and citizens. A seminar on how college recruiting works will be done for the rising eighth graders.

Young, the camp director, has won more than 350 games in his 21-year coaching career, including 10 Coach of the Year awards. He will be assisted by his Warrior coaching staff and former players.

Former NR standouts such as Nick Wright (Old Dominion), Andre Jones (Winthrop), Mark Brown (Chowan) and Kenny Hart (Averett) are scheduled to speak to the campers.
