A Suffolk woman has been charged with threatening to burn her own church.

Tracy Townsend Anderson, of the 1700 block of Mount Lebanon Avenue, was arrested Wednesday after an investigation by Suffolk Fire Marshals and police investigators. She was charged with one felony count of threatening to bomb or burn.

According to police, Anderson threatened to burn Macedonia Baptist Church, with everyone in it, after a meeting at the church. She is reported to have become upset after a vote was taken on the status of the church’s minister.

She was released from Western Tidewater Regional Jail on a $5,000 bond.
