Suffolk Police have released photographs of a man who stole more than $3,500 worth of a heartburn medication from a local retailer last month.

Police say that on May 10, a black male entered the Walmart on North Main Street and took more than $3,500 worth of Prilosec OTC from the store. The heartburn medication enhances the “high” feeling that several illegal drugs provide when taken together, according to a press release from the city. That fact makes Prilosec one of the top items stolen for resale in America, the press release said.

Surveillance video from the store shows a black male committing the theft, but a black female and young black male also were seen with the suspect, police say. All three left the store in a small, four-door, burgundy-colored car.
