SUFFOLK — Our mother, grandma, aunt, cousin Noisey passed early Sunday morning the 4th of July. Noisey was born May 15, 1921 in Whaleyville, Va. to Maggie Dildy Edwards and Burtell Edwards. She was affectionately loved by everyone, always there, day or night when you needed her no questions asked. She loved her family dearly, who were always at her bedside. She was a retired domestic worker.
She is survived by two sons, Burtell Edwards and Robert Edwards (Regina), both of Suffolk; grandchildren, Robin Lee, Wanda Edwards, Robert Edwards Jr., Tron Perry, Raphel Edwards and Diandra Sawyer; three great-grandchildren, Temeka Brown, Kimberly Edwards and Keaira Lee; a sister-in-law, Ruby Edwards. She was a sister to Margret Lee Taylor and Dorothy Mae Dildy. She was a mother and friend to Esther Lassiter (Sherman), Paige Dildy, Angel Hunt, Calvin Dildy (Esther). She also is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Palm Tree Baptist Church, 8165 Whaleyville Blvd., officiated by the Rev. Anthony Sommerville. Interment will be in Dildy Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1341 White Marsh Ro ad. Crocker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
