Former Warriors playing in 7 Cities Pro Am

Nansemond River alum Nick Wright scored a season-high 19 points Saturday as his Hampton Roads 7 Cities Pro Am team, Fidonce Player Development, defeated Towne Bank/Virginia Wesleyan 82-71 at Booker T. Washington High School in Norfolk.

Wright’s Old Dominion teammate Kent Bazemore led Fidonce Player Development (2-1) with 29 points.

Two more former Warriors contributed to victories in the Pro Am league over the weekend.

Marquie Cooke, a rising junior at Elizabeth City State, scored 14 points as Crossover Productions (3-0) beat the Broad Creek Ballers 85-63. Eric Joe, who completed his career at Newport News Apprentice School last season, scored eight points as Tose/Freeman Ballers/Newport News Apprentice (1-2) beat The Peninsula/Christopher Newport 53-42.

The league continues at Booker T. Washington with tripleheaders on Saturday and Sunday, with both tripleheaders starting at 2 p.m.
