Suffolk police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect with an affinity for top-shelf liquor.
A man described as 5’7” to 5’10”, 175-185 pounds, with black hair worn in dreadlocks, is suspected in three different shoplifting incidents at area ABC stores during the past 10 days.
Most recently, the man entered the ABC store in the 6500 block of Hampton Roads Blvd., where he was observed on surveillance video taking a $68, 1.75-liter bottle of Ciroc Vodka from a top shelf, placing it in his pants and walking out of the store.
While police were taking a report about that larceny, Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George said in a press release on Tuesday, the same suspect was in a Churchland ABC store, where police say he also stole vodka. The same man also is suspected of stealing Grey Goose Vodka from an ABC store on Sam’s Club Way in Chesapeake on July 11.
Anyone with information about the thefts or the suspect should contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Crime Line callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If a caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
