Stephanie A. Williams, of the 5600 block of Plummer Boulevard was taken to Western Tidewater Regional Jail, from which she has been released on a $5,000 bond.

During their investigation, police learned that the incident was not the result of an accident, according to Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George.

Williams, according to the police report, had had an argument with her 29-year-old boyfriend while at Joyner’s Motel. When the man attempted to leave, George said in a news release, Williams chased him in her 1994 Honda Accord and struck him twice with the vehicle, knocking him down once.

The victim got up and tried to get away, but Williams “circled him in the vehicle and attempted to block him,” at one point even blocking traffic, the release states.

The couple’s two-year-old daughter was in the car during the incident, and Child Protective Services is investigating.

Williams’ boyfriend sustained minor injuries.
