Dale Fick

Dale Sadler Gibbs Fick, 72, of Corapeake in Gates County, N.C., died Tuesday at the home of her daughter following a long illness.
Born in Lake Landing, Hyde County, N. C., she was the daughter of the late Benjamin
Frank and Irene Pugh Sadler. She was first married to Arthur Bell Gibbs, who preceded her in death, then later married William H. Fick, who also preceded her in death. She worked as a clerk in the former Navy Yard Credit Union, Portsmouth, Va., now known as Northern Star Credit Union. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Chesapeake, Va.
Dale loved God, and was devoted to her family. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to travel.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Gibbs family plot in Soule Cemetery in Swan Quarter, N.C. Dr. Ira “Sonny” Furrow and Jorge Antezana will officiate.
Surviving are her daughters, Laura Smith and husband, Gil, of Windsor, Va., and Carol Antezana and husband, “Coco,” of Corapeake; two stepsons, William “Bill” Fick and wife, Virginia, and Thomas Fick and wife, Jenny, all of Virginia; brothers, Joe Frank Sadler and Reid Gregory Sadler, of Swan Quarter; sisters, Kerry S. Carawan, of Swan Quarter, and Lana S. Blake, of Newport News, Va.; grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Kelsey Smith, Gabriela Antezana, Samuel Antezana and wife, Faye, and Matthew Antezana.
The family suggests that memorials be directed to Swan Quarter Christian Church, c/o Lenora S. Bright, 975 Main St., Swan Quarter, NC 27885.
