Mr. Lorenzo McCoy Peele departed this life on Wednesday, July 28, 2010. Lorenzo was born on March 13, 1919 to the late Willie and Iola Peele.
He was the husband of the late Eloise Eley Peele for 67 years. From this union, they were blessed with eleven children.
Lorenzo is survived by his loving family members, five sons, Lawrence McCoy Peele (Kathleen), of Clifton, N.J., Clifton Peele (Loraine), of Suffolk, Earl Peele, Windell Peele (Vanessa) and Willie Peele, all of Portsmouth; three daughters, Annie Austin (Roy), Mary Herndon (James) and Glynda Lawrence; sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and several other loving relatives and friends. He is predeceased by sons Lorenzo McCoy Peele Jr., Columbus Leroy Peele and Lee Anthony Peele.
Viewing will be Aug. 1 at TE Cooke-Overton Funeral Home from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Service will be Aug. 2 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Mahan Church officiated by Rev. Steven G. Blunt.
Interment will be at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
