A downed power pole at the intersection of West Washington and Broad street has closed a portion of West Washington Street.

The portion of the road surrounding the pole will be closed for three hours, city spokeswoman Debbie George said at 1 p.m.

Traffic is being directed around the area.

The Suffolk Police Department and maintenance crews are on location.
