Police say that just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, a 23-year-old woman was running on Lord’s Lane in the Suffolk Meadows neighborhood when she was grabbed and thrown to the ground.

When the woman screamed, the suspect struck her in the face several times, city spokeswoman Debbie George said. He ran from the area when vehicles approached on the roadway.
