Suffolk golfer makes cut at Kingsmill

Suffolk’s John David Sanderson made the cut by one stroke following the second round of the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) Junior at Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg Wednesday.

Sanderson, a member of Cedar Point Country Club and student at Summit Christian Academy in Newport News, shot 76 in Tuesday’s first round and carded a 2-over-par 73 Wednesday on Kingsmill’s River Course. Fifty-five of the 116 golfers in the field made the cut to Thursday’s final round.

King’s Fork student Adam Peebles shot 78 and 75 to miss the cut.

Fairfax’s Tyler Wingo led the field by three shots, with rounds of 68 and 67 for a 7-under par total, going into Thursday’s play.
