Gloria McCutchen Ricks of the 400 block of Oak Street, Suffolk, passed away Aug. 25, 2010, at Autumn Care Nursing Home, Portsmouth.
She was a native of Williamsburg, S.C. She was a member of Macedonia A.M.E. Church, where she was a member of the choir.

Mrs. Ricks was predeceased by her parents, Manning and Geneva McCutchen, and her sister, Rose Goodman.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Stephen Ricks Sr. of Suffolk; one son, Stephen Ricks Jr. (Karen) of Suffolk; two brothers, Manning McCutchen Jr. and Theodore McCutchen; two grandchildren, James Woodson III and Laneecia Ricks; as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at Macedonia A.M.E. Church 127 Pine St., conducted by the Rev. Charles L. Harvin and Bishop Clarence V. Russell Jr. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. The family will be at 1641 Nansemond Parkway.
