Police have released the name of the victim in Sunday’s fatal crash on South Quay Road.

James William Hendrix II, 52, of the 1100 block of Portsmouth Boulevard, died at the scene after being partially ejected from his pickup truck, which police said had been traveling eastbound when it crossed into the median, hit a culvert and rolled several times before coming to a rest on its side.

The accident took place at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said that Hendrix was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
