Suffolk police are seeking a man who robbed a Carolina Road convenience store Wednesday.
According to city spokeswoman Debbie George, the suspect entered the store just after 9 p.m. and took a small amount of candy to the register. When the clerk opened the register, the man demanded money.
When the cashier refused to give the man any cash, he jumped the counter, took money from the register and then fled on foot, George said. He never displayed a weapon.
The man is described as a black male who was wearing a white T-shirt, black shorts with a red stripe and a black baseball cap.
