Richard Allen Byrd Sr., 71, passed away Oct. 21, 2010 at his home in Suffolk.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas F. Byrd and Chaplain Clara Ravenell in the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434 with burial at the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the start of the service.
