Western Branch (2-5, 2-4) at King’s Fork (0-7, 0-6) – 7 p.m.

Last season – Western Branch 24-6

The Bruins come in with their only wins coming against Suffolk schools. Indian River edged the Bruins 17-14 last Friday.

The Bulldogs, mostly thanks to the defense keeping the game pinned in one end of the field, threatened Deep Creek throughout the first half last Friday night. Still, Deep Creek led 7-0 at halftime and blew the game open in the third quarter.

Deep Creek (3-4, 3-3) at Lakeland (0-7, 0-6) – 7 p.m.

Last season – Lakeland 20-0

When the Cavaliers blanked Deep Creek last October, it gave the Cavs a 6-2 record. Lakeland’s lost nine straight games since then. It’s the home finale for Lakeland.

Quarterback Kameron Stewart rushed for two touchdowns and passed for two touchdowns in Deep Creek’s win over King’s Fork.

Nansemond River (1-6, 1-5) at Oscar Smith (6-1, 6-0) – 7 p.m.

Last season – Oscar Smith 38-12

Nansemond River’s gone from playing against Great Bridge’s aerial attack to Hickory’s triple option offense to Oscar Smith. The Tigers are No. 2 in the state and can do it all. There are lots of big stats to choose from with the Tigers – senior wide receiver Quinta Funderburk has 918 receiving yards and eight TDs this season.

Greenbrier Christian (5-2, 1-2) at Nansemond-Suffolk (2-5, 2-1) – 7 p.m.

Last season – Nansemond-Suffolk 41-14

It’s odd to be sure, but the 2-5 Saints have their conference fate in their hands. Wins over Greenbrier Christian and Hampton Roads would mean at least a share of the TCIS title.

The Gators started the season 5-0 after going 1-9 last year. GCA’s led by junior running back T.J. Reynard’s 742 rushing yards and 11 TDs.

Ryan May rushed 20 times for 156 yards and three TDs on Saturday in NSA’s 28-7 win at Norfolk Academy.
