As part of their investigation into a suspicious death that was discovered on Sunday, Suffolk police are trying to locate and speak to a Texas man who has been visiting the area recently.
Police would like to talk with Larry N. “Tumbleweed” O’Neal, 32, of Texas, the city announced in a press release on Monday. O’Neal has been visiting Portsmouth recently, Suffolk spokesperson Debbie George said in the press release.
Police began their public search for O’Neal Monday morning, about 18 hours after they discovered the body of Katina L. Jones, 31, who was found dead in her apartment in the 4300 block of Crowdy Blvd. at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Police have released few details about Jones’ death. But they initially put out a call for help finding her car, a 2003 Toyota Echo that in a Monday morning update they said had been recovered by Norfolk police on Sunday night.
Anyone with information about Jones’ death should contact Crime Line at 1-888-Lock-U-Up. Crime Line callers do not have to give their names or appear in court. If a caller’s information leads to an arrest, the caller can qualify for a reward of up to $1,000.
