The fire marshal’s office still is investigating the cause of a Saturday night fire at Hoffler Apartments.

One adult and four children, ages 6-15, were displaced by the fire. Emergency dispatchers received the call just after 7 p.m. to the public housing development in the 2200 block of East Washington Street.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the apartment where it originated, city spokeswoman Debbie George said. It may have begun in a bedroom closet.

The building suffered about $10,000 in damage, with another $3,500 in damage to contents, George added.
