Ethel Mae Foster, of 1729 Sawmill Point Road, Suffolk, departed this life Dec. 31, 2010, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born to the late Melvin Hicks Warren and Robert Warren on Jan. 6, 1929.

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Hobson for 40 years and later joined Little Bethel Baptist Church until her health began to fail. She was married to the late George Foster Sr. and to this union, one son was born, George Foster Jr., who preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Kelvin Foster (Jeanette) of Newport News; a devoted daughter-in-law, Dorothy Jean Foster; one grandson, seven granddaughters and eight great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at noon, Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Little Bethel Baptist Church. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Chuckatuck. A wake will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Crocker Funeral Home with the United Order of Tents No. 61 service.
