The residents of about 30 senior apartments at the Orchards at Belleville Harbour complex in North Suffolk are being assisted with overnight accommodations after their apartments lost power.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue received a report just before 8 a.m. Monday about burnt electrical wires in the 1000 block of Belle Orchard Lane, off Plummer Boulevard.

Power has been restored to about 100 apartments, and those residents were allowed to return. The original 30 apartments that were affected remain without power.

Property managers at the apartment complex are working with the American Red Cross to provide overnight accommodations for those that have not had power restored.
