A Suffolk woman is charged with prostitution and possession of heroin after police allegedly found her at the Red Carpet Inn with a customer.
Police arrested Lynda Stewart, 31, of the 2800 block of Copeland Road, after an investigation at the hotel at 1017 N. Main St., city spokeswoman Debbie George said.
The Neighborhood Enforcement Team received information about possible criminal activity in a room there on Saturday, George said. When they arrived, they spoke with Stewart, who “advised that she was an entertainer,” George said.
In the course of the investigation, the officers also allegedly found heroin in Stewart’s purse, said George, who added there was a male customer in the room.
The customer was not charged, George said.
