Mr. Sylvester Arrington, 54, of 804 Constance Road, Suffolk, died July 14, 2011, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk. He was a native of Suffolk.
He received his education from Andrew J. Brown and Booker T. Washington Schools. He was the husband of Mrs. Angela V. Arrington and the son of Mrs. Viola C. Arrington and Mr. Raymond Wright. He retired after 14 years of service with Planters Nuts and Chocolate.

He is survived by his wife Angela V. Arrington, his mother Viola C. Arrington and father Raymond Wright; daughters, Angel V. Arrington of Suffolk, and Star Arrington of Portsmouth; one son Sylvester Arrington Jr., of Suffolk; three sisters, Donna M. Arrington and Berth B. Arrington both of Suffolk, and Faye L. Arrington of Portsmouth; eight brothers, Herbert Jones of Norfolk, Sylvester Joyner (Tonya), of Compton, Calif., Percy Arrington, Ronald Arrington, Lester Arrington (Theresa), Wesley Arrington (Bettina), Victor Arrington and Carter Arrington (Sandra); five grandchildren; one special granddaughter, Jakwanda Arrington; two uncles, Floyd Butts of Philadelphia, and Ned Butts of Detroit; one great uncle, Bobby Wright of Portsmouth; two aunts, Alice Daniels of Suffolk and Joyce Butts of Philadelphia; one stepbrother, Jerry Baker, and one stepsister, Barbara Jean Graves.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Greater First Baptist Orlando with the Rev. Kenneth Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Carver Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk.
Family will receive friends at 1425 Pinto Court, Suffolk.
