Theresa Eley, 58, of 211 Lewis Ave., Suffolk, Va., died Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Flintdolph Bailey and Frances Eley.
She retired from Planters (Kraft Foods) after 31 years of service. She was a member of Greater First Baptist Church of Orlando, where she was on the usher board. She was a member of Local 2426 UAW.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Theresa Michelle Eley and Darlene A. Cooper (Robert), both of Suffolk; one sister, Nanie P. Williams, of Suffolk; three brothers, Rudolph Bailey, Frederick Eley (Rose), of Kentucky and Flintdolph Bailey Jr.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a special friend, Harrison Brown; and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Greater First Baptist Church Orlando, officiated by the Rev. Betty Montgomery. Interment will be in Morning Star Church Cemetery in Windsor. The body will be placed in the church at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at 116 Nancy Drive #W7. They will assemble in the chapel of Crocker Funeral Home on Saturday at noon for the procession to the church. A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
