A four-vehicle accident kept the Godwin Bridge on U.S. Route 17 closed for about an hour and a half on Monday.

Five passengers were transported to area hospitals, while two more passengers refused treatment. None of the injuries were believed to be life-threatening, city spokeswoman Debbie George said.

The accident occurred at 2:13 p.m. The bridge reopened around 3:45 p.m.
