CARRSVILLE — Steve Allen Jones, 54, passed away Sept. 29, 2011. Born in Suffolk, Steve was a 30-year employee of Lipton Tea Co. and co-owner of Cutting Edge Lawn Service. He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and a former member of Pine Grove Assembly of God in Windsor where he was a deacon and Royal Ranger leader.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Vanessa King Jones; his parents, Jimmie and Elizabeth Jones, of Suffolk; a daughter, Crystal J. Boyd and husband, Chris, of Carrsville; a son, Nathan A. Jones, of Suffolk; a sister, Tammie Jones, of Suffolk; two brothers, Roger Jones and wife, Cathy, of Franklin, and Keith Jones, of Virginia Beach and a granddaughter, Alanah Gayle Jones. He was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Jones.

A funeral will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, where the family will receive friends following the service. Interment will follow on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Southampton Memorial Park. The family suggest memorials be made to any favorite charity. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
