Daisy Viola Towns, of 5912 Hawk Lane, Suffolk, Va., passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late Andrew and Lynwood Mann Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lee Towns Sr.; her son, Willie Lee Towns Jr.; her brother, James Andrew Chapman; sisters, Anna E. Scott and Gearldine V. Chapman.

She retired from domestic work. She was a member of Abundant Harvest Church in Franklin, Va.

She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Robin Langston (Anthony), of Corapeake, N.C.; one son, James F. Towns (Sarita), of Corapeake, N.C.; four sisters, Rosa Harris (Elbert), of Portsmouth, Va., Flora Ellen Chapman, Pastor Joyce Myrick and Gwen E. Strickland (Larry Sr.), all of Suffolk; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Little Bethel Baptist Church, 6533 Everets Road, Suffolk, officiated by Pastor Joyce Chapman Myrick.
