Judith Perry

Judith Perry, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011. She was born in Suffolk, Va., and was the daughter of the late George Glazebrook Smith and Julia Freeny Smith.
She taught in the Chesapeake school system for six years and in the Virginia Beach schools for 30 years. She was a member of the National Education Association, Virginia Education Association, and the Virginia Beach Education Association, as well as a lifetime member of the PTA. She was a charter member of Mended Hearts, Chapter 233, and the Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital Auxiliary, AARP Chapter 992, Chesapeake Beach Women’s Club, and enjoyed years of carrying Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by one daughter, Julann Fussell and her husband Norman; one son, William Q. Brothers III and his wife Joan; three grandchildren, Jessica Hodgeson, Douglas Fussell and William Q. Brothers IV; and one sister, Elizabeth Burton.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at Oxford United Methodist Church, 601 W. Washington St., Suffolk, Va.
