SUFFOLK — June E. Shaver, 53, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Ms. Shaver worked as a professional van driver for the Western Tidewater Community Services Board. She also held positions as a utility meter reader for Dominion Virginia Power and Utiliquest.

She freely loved and diligently served each person that came into her life with her whole heart. She saw the beauty in the simple things and squeezed the most out of each moment spent with her family and friends.

Ms. Shaver is survived by her adopted family of 18 years: best friend Deborah Henton and her sons Carramis and Aaron Henton, daughter Constance Henton and granddaughter Jerkiya Savage. She is also survived by brothers Bobby Shaver, of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Jerry Lynn Shaver, of Watauga, Texas; sisters, Beverly Yeakley of Carrollton, Texas, and Norma Rosette, of Stuart, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life gathering will be held in her honor on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at her home at 605 Rountable Court, Suffolk, Va. Condolences may be registered with R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home at www.rwbakerfh.com.
